Aware of the rapid population growth and the social, health and economic consequences it generates, the administrative and health authorities of Niger have implemented numerous strategies and actions aimed at controlling population growth through the promotion of family planning. Thus, Niger wants to raise the modern contraceptive prevalence rate from 21.8% in 2020 to 29.3% in 2025, and to 36.8% in 2030.

By the end of 2030, Niger is a country where all girls, women, including those in vulnerable situations are fulfilled with engaged communities and sexual and reproductive health and family planning services available and accessible everywhere and for everyone, in complete freedom without any form of discrimination, coercion or violence.

Le PO a atteint et dépassé, en 2020, ces objectifs en enregistrant plus de 3,8 millions d’utilisatrices additionnelles au lieu de 3,3 millions. Son objectif actuel est d’atteindre 13 millions d’utilisatrices de méthodes modernes d’ici 2030, doublant ainsi le chiffre actuel qui est de 6,5 millions.
